If Blake Griffin was paying attention Tyler Hansbrough may have just taken him to school. But it wasn't in the UNC win against Oklahoma, where I saw no reason for debate over who was the National Player of the Year. So please, let me clarify for Blake if he missed the point. Its hard to follow up a National Player of the Year season and look cooler than he just did doing it. [also read that as hard to look like a higher draft pick] Jumping off of frat houses in your socks, playing video games, and other 'college experiences' can be simulated in your very own MTV style crib, courtesy of the NBA. In fact - you don't even have to cut the last ping pong game short for fear of being late to class. The only way Hansbrough can claim a 'college experience' that would justify him playing college basketball this season is to return to Chapel Hill with nets on his neck. And fortunately for him, he has a good chance to do just that. Blake wouldn't have that luxury in a return next year, and would certainly be even more of a target for opponents than Hansbrough was this year. As for the balance of this year, this Big East lovefest has me considering doing a couple of keg stands, breaking out an old NBA Jams video game, blowing the dust off of my ping pong table, and pulling for the Heels. Yeah, right. I think I will just forget college basketball exists... and I expect that Blake will be doing the same.
