Apparently Degand opted out of the play that Sidney Lowe called - 'get the ball to Costner.'

I think a guard should be able to adapt the coaches play - depending on the situation… if he is SURE!
If I saw this defense as a guard … (scroll the game to the 3:18 mark on the video)....

I wouldn’t perceive there to be an opening that was enough to make me ignore the play at hand.

That said though – that guy never left Costner…. Not at all.
So if Costner wasn’t getting a screen to get free… how exactly did Lowe expect Degand to get him the ball?
